December

While spending some time photographing my hamsters, I noticed a really bald patch on the underside of the mommy hamster. Then I thought to myself, hey, the daddy hamster had tufts of fur missing before he passed away, so…. *sigh* I think it’s about time :(

Anyway, on the bright side, I’m so glad December’s finally here! The past semester was really tough, handling event after event after event, then lagging behind on school work so much that I drowned in my textbooks and visited school e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y for 2 weeks before exams. ARGHZ.

Well, Christmas is around the corner and I can’t help but feel jealous of the American culture (or rather, non-Asian culture) of Christmas shopping, tree decorating, taking family portraits for the traditional Christmas cards… My family never celebrated Christmas, we never had the practice of exchanging gifts during Christmas (I tried to start it once, but I ended up being the only one giving out presents ZZZZZ, NO FUN), and Christmas was just another regular day. No singing, no walking down Orchard Road to view the Christmas lights, etc. I think my parents probably felt that it was too much effort for one day. Hahaha.

I sure hope that when I finally have a family of my own, I’ll have enough motivation to cook up a party and start new traditions that my family never had. I so wanna dress my family in odd looking green and red clothes (topped off with scarves and beanies) for our family portrait and then mail it out to everyone. Hahahaha.

Love, Samantha
