Did you kiss your mom on Mothers’ Day? Cos I DID! Hahaha. My mom is such a great woman in so many ways. I can list a million reasons why I love my mom, but at the end of the day, I’m most grateful to my mom for sticking out through the difficult times for our family. She is the bravest, strongest, most supportive person I know.
I guess now that I’m 20, I’m starting to appreciate my mom more. Not that I didn’t appreciate her in the past, but because I was really attached to my dad, so I was always harping on “What could have happened if Daddy was here” and not really appreciating “What’s going on now BECAUSE Mommy is here”.
Sometimes we take for granted what our parents have done for us. We think little of the sacrifices they’ve made for us, taking that it’s just part of “parenting”.
So today, for a change, I treated my mom and sis to black pepper crab. Hahaha NO, it’s not because I’m treating that’s why it’s different, but because for the past few YEARS, every time we order crab, despite knowing that my mom LOVES black pepper crab, we’ll always order chilli crab because it’s my favourite (not sure about Fiona, she did not seem to take a stand today haha). You should have seen the smile on my mom’s face when she DEVOURED the crab. HAHAHA. I’ve never seen such enthusiasm in her while eating. LOL.

I am so exhausted. Today at 10am, my maid sms-ed me and told me that while washing the car, she accidentally locked the car keys inside the car. I rushed off from school after morning stats class, got home at 1245, attempted to open the car, failed, called the locksmith, waited till 2 for the guy to come, fix fix fix and 60 bucks flew away. Then my mom decided to have lunch before going to Cycle & Carriage at 330pm to duplicate a key and remote which took 1hr+, and now I am finally home.
S I G H!
My lovely cousins are staying over tonight, and I soooo wanna bake with them. But then there’s a whole pile of work to do. Maybe I should bake, and bring for my BGS meeting tomorrow to make up for my absence from BGS meeting today. Haha. I DIDN’T PON MEETING ON PURPOSE OK.
Thinking of what’s lined up tomorrow makes me dread going to bed tonight
There’s an E.y.E meeting at 11am at Suntec, which I don’t know if I can go because I am supposed to give make up lessons for my two piano students who’re taking their practical exams on Tuesday. Then there’s BGS meeting from 1230-430pm, which means the 2 Bleak or Bloom tickets I bought are going to be wasted. The only thing I’m looking forward to tomorrow is going to the Real Love Works @ Marina Barrage event. There’s going to be free goodie bags, activity stations where we can create unique gifts for our spouses/partners, and a mass renewal of love and releasing of balloons. My, the way I describe the event makes it sound so boring! Hahaha. It’s the exhaustion talking! Well I think the event tomorrow is going to be an awesome experience for Ivan and I, since we’ve never been so ONZ to turn up for any of such events. Lol.
Oh yes, one last thing. I love my mom! Here’s what she did for me today:
- Bought me 2 blazers because I keep complaining that I don’t have a blazer for next Monday’s BGS presentation.
- Bought me a bigger oven because I told her that Lace laughed at how I took 6 hours to bake because of a small oven. Haha.
- Helped me purchase my car insurance till 2010 March.
- Paid my road tax for me because I’m just too busy and lazy.
